The aim concerning this present review was to characterize anatomical variations of inferior alveolar nerve that maybe encountered all the while surgical procedures there by preventing surgical complications. Most universal method for obtaining mandibular induced sleep in dental practice is inferior alveolar nerve block though it has been supposed to have only 80 to 85% of success rate. The mandibular nerve and allure branches are traditionally numb by depositing anaesthetic fluid in the extent of the mandibular foramen. This widely used process eliminates all somatosensory understanding of the mandible, mandibular teeth, floor of the backtalk, ipsilateral tongue, and so forth but the lateral (buccal) gingivae. The inferior alveolar nerve is known to present accompanying anatomical differences prior to the nerve coming the mandibular canal, as well as ahead its course inside the mandibular canal. In the case of difficulty-to-drug patients, the inferior alveolar nerve maybe especially tough. A sound knowledge of physical variations that maybe encountered all the while surgical procedures is helpful in preventing surgical complications. In aforementioned situations the alternatives to inferior alveolar nerve block characterized in this item can be successfully utilised accompanying the best information and skill of the operators.
