Recent Study on a High-Precision Registration Technology Based on Bundle Adjustment in Structured Light Scanning System

In this paper, in order to address this problem, we propose a high-precision registration method based on multiple view geometry theory. In the areas of reverse engineering, relic preservation, biomedicine, the most powerful methods of obtaining three-dimensional (3D) surface data of objects, organised light scanning device based on binocular stereo vision, have been commonly used. With the rising number of registrations when measuring a large scale object using standardised light scanning, the multiview 3D data registration accuracy will decrease. First, during the scanning process, a multiview network is built. To refine the multiview network to achieve high-precision global control points, the package adjustment system of optical near range photogrammetry is used. After that, the 3D data is documented with the global control points under each local coordinate of each scan. In the conventional registration procedure, the approach overcomes the accumulation of errors and decreases the time consumption of the following 3D data global optimization. The accuracy and reliability of multiview 3D scan registration is improved. The effectiveness of the proposed algorithm will be tested by experiments.
