Industrially Important Xylanases and Their Commercial Applications

Industrially Important Xylanases and Their Commercial Applications

The most abundant and principal form of hemicellulose is Xylan. It is a β-D xylopyranosyl unit linear polymer bound by (1-4) glycosidic bonds. Due to the environmental hazards and diseases caused by the release of absorbable organic halogens, cellulase-free xylanases are essential in pulp biobleaching as alternatives to the use of toxic chlorinated compounds. Xylanases are used in pulp and paper, fruit, animal feed, textiles and pharmaceuticals in a wide variety of applications. In this study, we concentrated on studies of the structural composition of xylanase, xylanase origins, xylanase development and possible industrial applications of xylanase.
